About The Village Project
The Village Project is a multi-module education series created and facilitated by The Project of the Quad Cities. Our goal is to provide the tools you need to support and surround LGBTQ+ people in every sector of this community. From health care facilities to small businesses, churches to school classrooms, TPQC wants to meet you where you are and give you what you need so that you can help us continue to support and surround the people we serve.

We've all heard it said
It takes a village to raise a child, but do we ever wonder why?
Of course we don’t.
We don’t need to.
It’s easy to understand.
Children are vulnerable and families can only reach so far, so their care depends on something that extends beyond what the family can provide.
...cue the concept of a village, something that supports and surrounds the children entrusted to its care.
But do we ever wonder why we stop with children?
Why don't we find ourselves just as committed to caring for our neighbor, the stranger down the street, or the communities in which we live?
Why don’t we keep creating villages that can care for all of us instead?
At TPQC, we believe we can.
Because at TPQC, this is what we do.
We’ve long understood that a vital part of our mission is to be a safe place for people who find themselves in any number of vulnerable positions, and from that safe place, we provide access to care that changes lives.
But as we look forward at our future, we want more than that. It isn’t enough that we are a safe place. The people we serve deserve to be safe everywhere they go in this community. They deserve the kind of village that extends beyond our walls and follows them out into the rest of their lives.
And this is the kind of village we will build with your help through The Village Project.
